Gateway Communications awarded at 2009 SatComs Star Awards

Gateway Communications, a telecommunications services supplier in Africa, won the “Satellite Service Provider of the Year” at the SatCom Star Awards 2009. The awards was held at the Sandton convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa on 8 April, 2009.

The reception was attended by senior industry executives on the fringes of the annual SatCom Africa conference in Johannesburg.

For the “Satellite Service Provider of the Year” Award, Gateway was assessed on how it has made a difference to the satellite industry in Africa, customer satisfaction levels, its introduction of new and innovative services and how it has accommodated changing connectivity needs in Africa.

Gateway Communications uses 47 transponders of capacity, principally supplied over Africa by Intelsat with customers in 40 African countries.
