Themed 'Revolution and Liberation in the Digital Age', the 21st New York African Film Festival (NYAFF) will take place from 7-13 May 2014.

The Festival is presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center (FSLC) and African Film Festival, Inc. (AFF).

The launch will reportedly include 11 features and 8 short films from various African nations and the African Diaspora, with screenings also taking place at the Maysles Documentary Center and the Brooklyn Academy of Music's BAMcinématek.

The NYAFF opening night presentation will be Confusion Na Wa, the dark comedy by Kenneth Gyang and audiences will get a sneak peek before the 16 May theatrical release of the film Half of a Yellow Sun, based on the internationally best-selling novel of the same name by National Book Critics Circle Award-winning Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Tickets for the NYAFF screenings go on sale on 17 April at the Film Society's box offices and online at www.FilmLinc.com.
