Merchandiser/Senior Coordinator

• Leading manufacturer of locally made apparel

• Merchandiser/senior coordinator within the supply of locally manufactured apparel

• Meeting with buyers to receive briefs for coming seasons
• Briefing pattern makers following meetings with buyers
• Costings based on rating and various components
• Sync experience (although sufficient training can be done if this hasn’t been worked on before)
• Fabric orders
• Updating buyers and planners on timeline issues and order status
• Managing coordinating team who assist with trims, production and DC bookings
• Managing sample and sealing process through correct sample set briefing and requests
• Liaison with Retail QC when there are spec or grade rule concerns (as requested by internal QCs)
• Basic knowledge of fabric reactions in order to adapt styling but still maintain the brief
• Oversight or over run or under run in production / stock garments coming in / fabric and trim returns
• Management of strat stock fabric and ensuring anything ordered and brought in specifically for a Buyer, is take up and used by that buyer within season
• Quarterly travel to Cape Town will be required too

• Relevant qualification in fashion, retail or production advantageous
